What: Egg decorating demonstration and personalizing of egg ornaments with the image of the Statue of Liberty and other designs.
Who: Daniela Sipkova-Mahoney, born in Prague, Czech Republic came to the United Stated on October 19, 1982. Daniela has been crafting eggs since 1983 and has decorated 84,000 egg ornaments in past 28 years (an average of 10 per day).
If you stacked those eggs in dozen size cartons, they would form “Daniela’s tower of Freedom”, about 1,750 feet tall, making it according to www.infoplease.com World’s fifth tallest tower, approximately 500 feet taller than the Empire State Building.
In an effort to preserve the Czech/Slovak heritage, Daniela has been teaching cultural crafts as a residency artist in the Pacific Northwest and travelled natiowide as a guest speaker and publisher of ethnic activity books for children.
